I am often asked how I keep my skin moisturized during the winter months. At one time, this was a struggle for me but now I have found the perfect products and routine to keep my skin supple throughout the year.
Alaffia – EveryDay Shea Body Wash
It begins with my daily shower or bathe. This body wash is all natural and made with raw shea butter and virgin coconut oil. It is very nourishing and lathers up gently while in a warm shower. I’ve been using it for almost a year and it always leaves my skin soft and clean. I am pretty simple so my preference is the unscented bottle however it does come in several other wonderful scents.
Mich’s Natural Whipped Body Butter
Afterwards, I apply a rich and smooth body butter that leaves my skin feeling warm and radiant. This body butter is made with mango butter, coconut oil and a selection of essential oils. I must confess that I make this myself and have been using it for years. I use it all over my body and my skin stays soft and it smells wonderful.
BIENFAIT MULTI-VITAL SPF 30 LOTION – MOISTURIZER BY LANCOME
While the body butter is perfect for my body, I prefer something lighter on my skin. I have been faithful to this moisturizer for years. It contains SPF and is light and not oily which is perfect for the days I combine it with the Loreal Collagen Moisture Filler cream. I recently started using Auto Correct by Sunday Riley, it is a brightening and depuffing eye contour cream that works wonders on my eyes. I’ve added it to my morning and evening skin care routines.
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
I can’t say it enough about staying hydrated! Drinking water is essential in keeping your skin and body hydrated. The more water you drink, the more clear and radiant your skin will be. Drinking a gallon of water a day is a lot but if you are able to do it, your skin will love you. My daily goal is to drink between 80 – 90 ounces daily and I definitely see the results. My skin is clear and I am confident that it will stay moisturized during the winter months.
